Steps to
Accreditation
From Vision to Success
AICCS uses a clear, mission‑aligned pathway that guides institutions from initial membership to full accreditation. This pathway is the same for USA and international institutions, with each school complying with its respective religious‑education laws.

AICCS Certified Membership
Institutions begin by submitting their institutional profile and demonstrating basic alignment with the AICCS Standards of Excellence. Schools must also provide documentation of legal operation:
- USA: State religious‑exemption documentation
- International: Proof of legal operation in their country
Certified Members receive a one‑year membership certificate and may request Candidacy when ready.

Certified Membership Decision
Institutions that demonstrate basic alignment with the AICCS Standards of Excellence may be approved for membership and receive a Membership Certificate. The Certified Membership is valid for one year. As long as the member school maintains the annual report and pays the fee. Only Member Schools may apply for Candidacy for Accreditation.
If an institution does not yet meet the minimum requirements for membership, AICCS will advise the school of the areas needing improvement. Institutions willing to strengthen those areas may reapply when ready.

Candidate for Accreditation
Candidacy is a pre‑accredited status that indicates an institution has formally entered the accreditation process. Candidate Schools receive
"The How-to Manual for Non-Traditional Schools of Christian Ministry," by Dr. Curt Scarborough, the Self‑Study Workbook and guidance for documenting compliance with the AICCS Standards of Excellence.
During Candidacy, institutions complete their Self‑Study and prepare for the final accreditation review.
All timelines, renewal options, and fee details are provided privately through the AICCS Accreditation Information Packet.

Approved Schools
If the evaluation is favorable, an “Accredited Member” certificate will be issued to the school, but only after all expenses of the on-site visit have been paid in full.

Deficiencies Noted
If the vote is unfavorable, deficiencies will be noted, the school will be advised, and an extension of up to one year will be granted for the school to come into full compliance, with a one-time additional fee being charged. Check the Fee Schedule page.

Accreditation Review & Decision
After the Final Review, the AICCS Accrediting Commission evaluates the institution’s alignment with the AICCS Standards of Excellence and issues an accreditation decision.
Institutions that demonstrate full compliance with the Standards are granted Accredited Member status.
If areas of non‑compliance are identified, AICCS provides guidance and support for institutions willing to strengthen those areas and continue progressing toward accreditation.
All timelines, fees, and procedural details are provided privately through the AICCS Accreditation Information Packet.
