I work hard to avoid distractions. Yet somewhere among the many projects of my week, my mind wandered down a rabbit trail into the fascinating history of the first university. This detour reminded me that innovative disruptors challenge the status quo and give us a fresh perspective. But that fresh spark is crushed when made to conform to rigid norms.

The Lord’s communities are such a joy to experience as they make up the beautiful tapestry of God’s handiwork. It is so vast as you consider nations, races, tribes, and generations that have existed, are existing, and will exist. Every segment consists of communities of people. It’s hard to imagine that this mix of God’s heart also gives us different perspectives on biblical matters. Trying to wrap my brain around the idea is like trying to grasp eternity. We serve such an awe-some God.
